Delhi Police Sub-Inspector Arrested for Rs 1 Lakh Bribe by CBI

The CBI arrested Delhi Police sub-inspector Vijay Gaur for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh after negotiations from an initially demanded Rs 3 lakh bribe. Gaur, posted at the Chhawla police station, was caught red-handed in a CBI trap.

A Delhi Police sub-inspector was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday, officials confirmed. The accused, Vijay Gaur, stationed at the Chhawla police station, initially demanded a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from an individual under investigation in exchange for not arresting him. After negotiations, Gaur settled for Rs 2 lakh.

According to the CBI spokesperson, “The agency laid a trap and apprehended the sub-inspector red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the complainant.” Further investigations are ongoing.
