UN Chief Urges Russia to Respect NK Sanctions

This statement followed a recent agreement between Russia and North Korea, which included a mutual defense pledge. Guterres insisted that all international relations with DPRK must adhere to Security Council sanctions.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Friday that Russia must abide by U.N. sanctions on North Korea (DPRK) after the two countries signed a deal that included a mutual defence pledge.
"There are sanctions approved by the Security Council in relation to the DPRK," he told reporters. "Any relationship that any country has with DPRK, including the Russian Federation, must entirely abide by those sanctions."
