Chhattisgarh SDM and Three Others Arrested for Bribery

In a significant bust, the Chhattisgarh Anti Corruption Bureau apprehended four individuals, including a sub-divisional magistrate, for accepting a bribe in Surguja district.
Among the arrested is SDM Bhagi Rathi Khande, home guard Kavinath Singh, clerk Dharampal, and peon Abir Ram. They were charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The investigation revealed that Khande demanded Rs 55,000 to alter revenue records favorably. A trap laid by the ACB led to the coordinated arrest, showing a disturbing trend of institutional corruption.
