The Erode North Police seized 305 kilograms of banned tobacco and arrested a suspect on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off, authorities raided a private bakery in Veerappanchatram, confiscating tobacco worth Rs three lakh. The police have detained the individual and initiated legal proceedings.

The Erode North Police made a significant breakthrough in their fight against the sale of banned tobacco, seizing 305 kilograms of the contraband and arresting a suspect on Sunday.

Police had received information about increasing sales of prohibited tobacco products in the Erode Municipal Corporation area. Intensifying their efforts, they conducted a well-coordinated raid on a private bakery in Veerappanchatram, following a credible tip-off.

The raid resulted in the confiscation of 305 kilograms of banned tobacco worth Rs three lakh. An individual was apprehended and a case has been registered against them, signaling a strong message against illegal tobacco sales.
