Ayodhya Road Scandal: High-Level Probe Initiated

The Ayodhya district administration has formed a committee to investigate the gross negligence in the construction of the 14-km-long Ram Path after multiple cave-ins and severe waterlogging caused by pre-monsoon rains. A high-level inquiry has been demanded by newly-elected MP Awadhesh Prasad.

The Ayodhya district administration has launched an inquiry into the gross negligence observed in the construction of the 14-km-long Ram Path, which experienced multiple cave-ins after just two pre-monsoon showers. This follows the Uttar Pradesh government's suspension of six civic agency officials for alleged negligence.

A committee comprising representatives from all concerned departments has been tasked with probing the issues and submitting a report within 15 days. Ayodhya Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal defended the construction quality, attributing the problems to excessive rainfall.

MP Awadhesh Prasad has demanded a high-level investigation, emphasizing the need for accountability beyond initial suspensions. The state government has also issued a notice to the contractor responsible for the construction.
