Railway Ministry Refutes Jairam Ramesh's FIR Claim

The Railway Ministry has denied Congress leader Jairam Ramesh's claim that the Delhi Police filed the first FIR under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita 2023 against a street vendor at New Delhi Railway Station. The Ministry clarified that no such FIR has been registered, citing a letter from the Station House Officer.

The Railway Ministry has dismissed allegations made by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh regarding the filing of the first FIR under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita 2023. Ramesh claimed that the FIR was against a street vendor obstructing a foot-over bridge at New Delhi Railway Station.

Ramesh shared his assertion via social media platform X, stating that the Delhi police had taken action against a vendor earning his daily livelihood. In response, the Railway Ministry categorically denied these claims, urging not to 'mis-inform.'

The Ministry supported its stance with a letter from the Station House Officer of New Delhi Railway Station, which clearly stated that no FIR had been registered against any street vendor for such obstruction.
