During his visit, Gandhi urged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to promptly release substantial compensation for affected families. The Congress leader personally interacted with the grieving families, promising to raise the issue in Parliament to prevent such tragedies in the future.

Notably, Gandhi's presence brought attention to administrative shortcomings and the urgent need for support to the impoverished victims. The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated a judicial commission to investigate the incident, with six 'sevadars' arrested thus far.
