High-Level Security Meeting Held After Jammu Terrorist Ambush

A high-level interstate security review meeting was held in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, following a terrorist ambush that left five army personnel dead. Senior BSF and police officials gathered in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, for an urgent interstate security review meeting, days after a suspected terrorist ambush on an army patrol. The attack, which took place on Monday, resulted in the deaths of five army personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer, and injuries to five others.

The high-profile meeting was attended by top security officials, including Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police R R Swain, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, and Special Director General of BSF, Western Command, Y B Khurania. The objective was to strengthen the security grid along the International Border and address any vulnerabilities.

The infiltration route used by the terrorists, leading to the dense forests of Machedi, was also under scrutiny. Over 50 individuals have been detained for questioning as a massive search operation entered its fourth day. Officials emphasized the need for heightened vigilance to counter the resurgence of militant activities in the region.
