Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar today called upon members of the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) to support meritorious girls facing financial and societal challenges, highlighting the transformative impact of such assistance on education and security.
Addressing the FICCI FLO Chennai Chapter at the Vice President's complex, Shri Dhankhar emphasized the exponential societal growth linked with empowering girls. He underscored, "When a woman controls the family's purse, its economy and growth are assured. This has been achieved massively over the last ten years."
Encouraging FLO members to leverage their influence within families and corporates, Shri Dhankhar urged for focused CSR initiatives benefiting underserved girls, thereby generating hope and opportunities crucial for their development.
He also applauded a recent Supreme Court judgment advocating equitable assistance for women regardless of religion, recognizing the hardships faced by women and government initiatives like universal sanitation, affordable housing, and the MUDRA Yojna aimed at their welfare.
Reflecting on parliamentary strides in gender representation, Shri Dhankhar highlighted the Women Reservation Bill's passage in the Rajya Sabha, noting that 17 women parliamentarians, including key positions apart from himself and the Deputy Chairperson, now significantly influence legislative affairs.
Proud of India's progress in women-led empowerment, Shri Dhankhar hailed Hon'ble President of India Draupadi Murmu, a tribal woman from humble origins, as a testament to India's leadership in women empowerment. He concluded, "India is setting the benchmark for women empowerment and women-led progress."
