A SpiceJet staff member, Anuradha Rani, was arrested on Thursday after allegedly slapping a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan in an argument over security screening, according to police and CISF officials.

Rani, a food supervisor with the airline, was stopped by Assistant Sub Inspector Giriraj Prasad at around 4 a.m. for not having the requisite permission to enter through the “vehicle gate” alongside other staff. She was directed to undergo screening at the nearby entrance designated for airline crew, but no female CISF personnel were present at that time, officials stated.

As per Jaipur airport SHO Ral Lal, the ASI summoned a female colleague for the security check, but the situation escalated, culminating in Rani slapping the officer. Consequently, a case has been filed against Rani under sections 121 (1) and 132 of the Bharat Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), aimed at penalizing actions that deter public servants. Investigations are currently underway.
