Water Minister Atishi on Thursday confirmed that water supply has been disrupted in various parts of Delhi following a breach in the Munak Canal at Bawana, which has affected the city's water treatment plants.
The water treatment facilities in Dwarka, Hyderpur, Bawana, and Nangloi have been significantly impacted by the breach. Minister Atishi expects production at Bawana, Nangloi, and Hyderpur plants to return to normal by Thursday evening, while the Dwarka plant will continue to face challenges.
Repair work has commenced urgently, with water being diverted to a sub-branch of the Munak canal to restore operations at three treatment plants. The Dwarka plant, reliant on the CLC, will experience ongoing disruptions. Authorities, including the Delhi Jal Board and Haryana's Irrigation department, are collaborating on-site to resolve the issue and provide relief to affected areas.
