Arrest Made in East Jaintia Hills Multiple Murder Case

A person has been arrested in Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills for his alleged involvement in the suspected murder of four individuals. The bodies were found with hands and feet tied, and cut marks on the neck. Police are continuing their investigation to apprehend other suspects.

One person has been arrested in Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills district on suspicion of being involved in the murders of four individuals last week, according to police reports on Thursday.

The four bodies, discovered with tied hands and feet and neck cut marks on July 6, were found in a forest near Umpleng village.

East Jaintia Hills SP Giri Prasad informed PTI that an investigation led to the arrest of one suspect and efforts are ongoing to apprehend additional accomplices.

The police have identified three of the deceased as Nasar Kyndait (33), Ravi Rai (23), and Rajesh Rai (26). The fourth individual is yet to be identified.

Three bodies have been returned to their families, according to an officer.
