Manipur Cabinet Convenes Legislative Assembly Session with Key Amendments

The Manipur Cabinet has decided to hold its next legislative assembly session from July 31 to August 6. This session will feature discussions on significant amendments, including the transferability of Village Defence Force personnel and revisions of important acts regarding educational institutions in the state.

The Manipur Cabinet has announced the next session of the legislative assembly, set to take place from July 31 to August 6, a state minister revealed on Friday.

According to Information and Public Relations Minister Sapam Ranjan, the session will introduce crucial measures, including the decision to make Village Defence Force (VDF) personnel, a unit of Manipur Police, transferable between districts.

Additionally, the cabinet has approved vital amendments to the Manipur Private School Registration and Regulation Act 2017 and the Dhanamanjuri University Act, focusing on the selection process, tenure, and other details concerning the vice-chancellor post.
