Kumar's relatives blocked the Jammu-Poonch highway, demanding an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

According to the police, Kumar was harassed by certain individuals after being seen with a girl at a restaurant. His family believes this led to him taking his own life. The relatives later dispersed after police and civil officers assured them that an investigation had commenced.
