A 45-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and minor son with an axe on Sunday in the Dhani Bazaar locality under Brijmanganj Police Station jurisdiction, according to police.

The accused, Manish Mishra, fled the scene after the incident, which claimed the lives of his wife Vijay Lakshmi, 40, and son Shaurya Mishra, 9, authorities stated.

Maharajganj Superintendent of Police Somendra Meena indicated that Mishra's mental condition was reported to be unstable. The bodies have been sent for post mortem, and police are actively searching for Mishra.
