Ex-BJYM Official Arrested for Dalit Man's Murder in Madhya Pradesh

A former BJYM office-bearer, Abhishek Pandey, was arrested for allegedly shooting a Dalit man, Lale Bansal, in Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli. The case was solved within 12 hours using CCTV footage. Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari alleged that Dalits are facing atrocities under the BJP government.

A former Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) office-bearer, Abhishek Pandey, was arrested in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli for allegedly shooting a Dalit man, Lale Bansal, a police official reported.

Additional Director General (Law and Order) Jaideep Prasad confirmed Bansal was found with gunshot wounds on Tenduha-Podi road. Three police teams solved the case within 12 hours, assisted by CCTV footage which led to Pandey's arrest. The accused admitted to the crime, and the gun used was seized.

SP Nivedita Gupta detailed that Pandey fired at Bansal after a confrontation. Meanwhile, MP Congress president Jitu Patwari accused that Dalits face increased atrocities under the BJP government. However, BJYM Singrauli president Rajendra Singh Parihar stated that Pandey was expelled from the party months ago for anti-party activities.
