Tragedy Strikes: Farmer and Wife Killed by Lightning in Nagpur

A farmer, Prabhakar Keshav Revatkar, and his wife, Hirabai, were tragically killed by a lightning strike in Nagpur district. The incident occurred in Mohpa village during heavy rain when the couple sought shelter under a tree. The local police have registered an accidental death case.

A farmer and his wife lost their lives to a lightning strike in Nagpur district on Monday, according to law enforcement officials. The incident transpired in the afternoon in Mohpa village, around 40 kilometers from Nagpur's district headquarters, as per information provided by the Kalmeshwar police station.

During heavy rainfall, Prabhakar Keshav Revatkar, aged 62, along with his wife Hirabai, aged 55, sought refuge under a tree located near a temple. Tragically, both were instantly killed by a lightning strike. Fellow farmers discovered their bodies later in the evening.

An accidental death case has been registered, authorities have confirmed. The local community remains in shock and mourning after this devastating event.
