In a significant ruling, a court in Ajmer on Tuesday acquitted all six individuals accused of raising inflammatory slogans outside the Moinuddin Chishti Dargah. The incident followed BJP leader Nupur Sharma's derogatory comments against the Prophet in 2022.
Public prosecutor Gulam Nazmi confirmed that Ajmer Dargah 'khadim' Gohar Chisti, along with Tazim Siddiki, Farook Zamali, Nasir, Riyaz Hasan, and Moin, were acquitted by the court under all sections.
''An appeal against the verdict will be made after a thorough examination of the court's order,'' Nazmi stated. The trial took place in the court of an additional district judge in Ajmer. Chisti was initially accused of delivering a hate speech at the shrine's main gate on June 17, 2022, and was arrested in Hyderabad in July 2022.
