Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday emphasized that district Collectors should conduct field visits to better understand and address the problems faced by the people.
Speaking at a high-level conference, which included district Collectors, Superintendents of Police, and various officials, Reddy stressed that decision-making should incorporate a humane touch. He cautioned that job satisfaction would be elusive if officials remain confined to their 'AC rooms.' Moreover, balancing development with welfare was highlighted as a critical aspect of their roles, according to an official release.
Reddy observed that many officials hailed from different states and stated they could serve the Telangana populace more effectively if they embraced the local culture. Citing government expenditure of Rs 85,000 per month per poor student, he urged Collectors to ensure the education system remained unharmed. Additionally, Reddy called for the supervision of government schools and hospitals to ensure transparency in implementing the ruling Congress's six poll 'guarantees.'
On land management, he recommended 'geo-tagging' as a measure to protect government lands from encroachment. Reddy also stressed universal access to the Arogya Sri health insurance scheme and proposed creating a 'digital health profile' for each citizen. Further, he suggested incentivizing doctors who work in rural areas and emphasized the need for proper medical services in tribal areas.
