The Andhra Pradesh cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has formally abolished the Land Titling Act and introduced a government order providing free sand for construction purposes.

According to Information and Public Relations Minister K Parthasarathy, the Act, passed during the YSRCP government, faced numerous issues, prompting its repeal. “Many people had suspicions and fears about the Land Titling Act, as reported by several media outlets. Hence, landlords pressured for its cancellation,” Parthasarathy said at a press conference.

Additionally, the cabinet has repealed the YSRCP government's sand policies from 2019 and 2021 and sanctioned a GO to offer free sand until a stable mechanism is established. The cabinet also approved a GO for loans up to Rs 2,000 crore for grain procurement and another for a Rs 3,200 crore loan from the NCDC for working capital assistance.
