India's Vital Aid: Lifeline for Palestinian Refugees Amidst Gaza Crisis
India has consistently supported the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) with financial contributions, recently donating USD 2.5 million to aid Palestinian refugees in Gaza. Despite significant political and financial challenges, India's aid has been pivotal in maintaining essential services like education and healthcare amid ongoing conflict.

In a significant gesture of continued support, India contributed USD 2.5 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) on Monday. The donation marks the first installment of an annual USD 5 million commitment to support the agency's core programs and services amidst challenging political and financial landscapes.
UNRWA spokesperson Tamara Alrifai expressed profound gratitude for India's unwavering assistance, particularly valuable during the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza that has displaced millions and strained health services. 'India’s consistent support is a point of pride for UNRWA amid immense challenges,' Alrifai stated.
In addition to financial contributions, India has sent humanitarian aid to Palestinians via Egypt and promised further medical supplies. Overall, India has donated USD 35 million from 2023-24 to UNRWA and continues to advocate for sustained humanitarian assistance for Palestinian refugees.
