The Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested Sufiyan Khan, a crucial member of a drug syndicate, following a significant mephedrone seizure worth Rs 60 crore in Navi Mumbai, an official confirmed on Wednesday.
The accused's name surfaced during the probe after the NCB's bust in Vashi on June 26, the official stated.
Previously, the NCB had dismantled the drug network upon confiscating 31.5 kg of mephedrone and arresting three individuals from various Mumbai locations. Khan, identified as a key syndicate figure, eluded authorities by constantly changing his hideouts and phone numbers. Based on specific intelligence, NCB personnel apprehended him at a Vashi lodge on Monday.
According to officials, Khan has a history of criminal activity and previously operated from Mumbai’s Sewree area. The investigation into his illegal activities continues.
