Bihar Police Detain Four in High-Profile Murder Case Probe

Bihar Police have detained four individuals for questioning in connection to the murder of Jitan Sahni, father of VIP chief Mukesh Sahni. CCTV footage showed the suspects at Sahni's residence. Detailed investigations are ongoing, with a focus on financial disputes and gathering forensic evidence.

Bihar Police have detained four individuals for questioning in connection with their investigation into the murder of Jitan Sahni, the father of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahni.

CCTV footage analysis revealed that these four persons entered Jitan Sahni's house around 10:30 pm on July 15 and stayed for half an hour. Mukesh Sahni's 70-year-old father was found stabbed to death at his home in Darbhanga district on July 16.

Investigators are analysing call detail records and the history of the four detained individuals, who had prior financial dealings with the deceased. Two of them had previously borrowed money from Sahni and had a heated argument with him two days before the murder.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the district police has been formed to investigate the case. Forensic examinations of the collected evidence are ongoing, and the 'weapon of offence' is still being sought.

Leaders including Union Minister Chirag Paswan, former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary have condemned the murder. Union Minister Nityanand Rai assured that the investigation is being conducted professionally and that the suspects are likely already in police custody.
