Tragic Suicide Sparks Investigation into Workplace Harassment

A 27-year-old private firm executive in Ghaziabad ended her life due to alleged physical and mental harassment by colleagues. The Ghaziabad police are investigating the incident, questioning colleagues, and examining CCTV footage after the woman's brother lodged an FIR citing harassment over the past five-six months.

A young private firm executive has tragically taken her own life, reportedly due to relentless physical and mental harassment from her colleagues, according to Ghaziabad police officials.

The 27-year-old woman, residing in Ghaziabad and employed in Noida, had allegedly endured harassment for five to six months, as noted by her family.

On July 12, the woman consumed poison, leading her brother to file an FIR at the local Nandgram police station under section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The FIR, based on a suicide note found in her room, details her harassment and names three colleagues responsible.

The grieving brother asserted, 'My younger sister was working at Axis House, Noida. She had told the family about the harassment three-four days before her death.'

The woman was rushed to MMG Hospital and later referred to GTB Hospital in Delhi, but she succumbed to her injuries the same evening.

Ghaziabad Police have initiated an in-depth investigation, scrutinizing CCTV footage from her workplace and interrogating colleagues to uncover the truth, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Nandgram) Ravi Kumar Singh revealed, adding, 'A detailed probe is underway.'
