Pune Court Remands IAS Officer's Mother in Police Custody Over Land Dispute

A Pune court has remanded Manorama Khedkar, the mother of IAS probationer Puja Khedkar, to police custody until July 20 after she was arrested for allegedly using a gun to threaten people over a land dispute.
Police apprehended Manorama from a lodge in Mahad, Raigad district, where she was hiding. She was then brought to the Paud police station in Pune and formally arrested. A local court subsequently ordered her remand in police custody.
Investigations against the Khedkar family are ongoing, with Manorama and her husband, Dilip, facing multiple charges under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the Arms Act. Additionally, both Puja and Dilip are under scrutiny for separate allegations involving misconduct and disproportionate assets.
