Six Arrested in Rs 3.5 Crore Heist: Investigation Continues

Six men were arrested for allegedly stealing Rs 3.5 crore from a transport company office in north Delhi. Rs 1.15 crore of the stolen amount has been recovered. The heist was conducted by a group of seven to eight individuals, with ongoing efforts to capture the remaining suspects.

Six men have been arrested for allegedly stealing Rs 3.5 crore from a transport company office in north Delhi, police said on Thursday.

The police initially detained 12 individuals in connection with the armed robbery that took place in the Kishanganj area last week. With the arrest of the six suspects, Rs 1.15 crore of the stolen money has been recovered. Efforts to apprehend the remaining culprits continue.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) M K Meena, the robbery occurred around 10.45 pm, when a group of seven to eight armed individuals forcefully entered the office. They snatched keys to the safety locker and made off with the cash.

Among those arrested are Pramod Tomar (33), Shanu Ali (43), and Faisal (18) from Delhi; as well as Ankush Tomar (30), Kailash Chauhan (48), and Upender Kumar (36) from Madhya Pradesh. Chauhan and Kumar were employees of the transport firm.

Following the incident, an FIR was registered and multiple police teams were deployed. Surveillance footage and vehicle checks led to the apprehension of the suspects. Interrogations revealed that the robbery was orchestrated by the accused with help from inside information provided by employees of the company.
