Two personnel from Chhattisgarh police's District Reserve Guard (DRG) sustained injuries following an improvised explosive device (IED) detonation by Naxalites in Bijapur district on Thursday, according to police reports.

The blast took place in the vicinity of Mutvendi village as a team of security personnel executed a search operation, stated a police official. The wounded officers were promptly transferred to Bijapur district hospital for treatment.

This attack follows a similar incident in which two Special Task Force (STF) personnel were killed and four others wounded after Naxalites triggered an IED in the Tarrem area on Wednesday night. The joint security team was returning from an anti-Naxalite operation in the forests, at the tri-junction of Bijapur, Sukma, and Dantewada districts, police said. The fallen constables were identified as Bharat Lal Sahu from Raipur and Satter Singh Kange from Narayanpur district.
