Bhil Leaders Push for Creation of Separate State

A delegation led by MP Rajkumar Roat is seeking a separate state for the Bhil community. Amid a large rally in Rajasthan, Roat and other Bhartiya Adivasi Party leaders emphasized the long-standing demand for 'Bhil Pradesh.' The proposal will be presented to President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi.

A delegation led by MP Rajkumar Roat announced a proposal for a separate state for the Bhil community, addressing a massive rally at Mangarh Dham in Rajasthan's Banswara district on Thursday. Roat confirmed plans to present the proposal to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Thousands of Bhil tribe members from neighboring states, including Gujarat and Rajasthan, gathered at the rally, organized by tribal leaders. The Bhartiya Adivasi Party (BAP) continues to champion the creation of 'Bhil Pradesh,' considered overdue by its members.

Roat stressed that the Bhil community's sacrifice at Mangarh in 1913 was for their cultural and political recognition. Other leaders like Umesh Meena and Thawarchand Bhil attended the rally in symbolic attire, further asserting their demand. Tribal activist Menka Damor highlighted the unique cultural identity of the Bhil tribe, urging women to differentiate from Hindu practices.
