The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched a crackdown on probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar, filing a police case against her for fraudulently availing attempts in the civil services examination by faking her identity.

A show cause notice for cancellation of her candidature for the Civil Services Examination-2022 was issued, along with a proposal to bar her from future exams. Official sources disclosed that a complaint was filed with the Delhi Police's crime branch against Khedkar.

The police have subsequently registered a case under relevant provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Information Technology Act, and disabilities law to investigate charges of forgery, cheating, and misuse of disability quota. Khedkar is accused of misusing power and privileges during her training in Pune District Collectorate.
