Action has been initiated against individuals attempting to disrupt peace in the Valley, according to Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board chairperson Darakhshan Andrabi.

This statement follows an incident where Shia community members held mourning at the Sunni shrine of Khanqah-e-Moula, dedicated to Sufi saint Mir Syed Ali Hamdani, in the city's downtown area.

Former Srinagar Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu commented on the matter, calling it unprecedented and worrying for sectarian harmony. He urged for calm and understanding.
