Enhanced Security Measures in Place for Record-Breaking Kanwar Yatra

Security has been ramped up along the Kanwar Yatra routes in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar and Uttarakhand's Haridwar. The Noida police have set up a dedicated Kanwar Cell, while Haridwar is divided into extensive zones for better crowd management. A significant rise in pilgrims is anticipated this year.

Security has been bolstered along the Kanwar Yatra routes in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar and Uttarakhand's Haridwar, with officials bracing for a significant surge in pilgrims this year.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police have set up a dedicated 'Kanwar Cell' and will establish 10 temporary outposts along the pilgrimage routes to maintain law and order. Haridwar has been meticulously divided into 13 super zones, 31 zones, and 126 sectors for enhanced crowd management.

Noida police have announced the enforcement of Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita from July 22 to August 5. Extensive arrangements have been made under the direction of Commissioner Laxmi Singh to ensure smooth conduct and facilitate easy movement for the devotees. Notably, security measures in Haridwar are equally comprehensive, with AP Anshuman, ADG (law and order), confirming that senior officers have been assigned crowd management responsibilities, while drone and CCTV surveillance will be deployed across the fair area. This heightened vigilance aims to ensure the safety and convenience of the devotees during the Kanwar Yatra and other intersecting festivities, such as the Chardham Yatra.
