Man Arrested for Allegedly Raping Seven-Year-Old Neighbor

A 35-year-old man named Dharmendra was arrested for allegedly raping his seven-year-old neighbor in an inebriated state. The incident occurred on Saturday night when the girl was playing outside her house. Villagers caught and thrashed the accused before handing him over to the police. The girl is hospitalized in serious condition.

The incident took place on Saturday night as the girl was playing outside her home. Dharmendra purportedly grabbed the girl, stuffed a cloth in her mouth, and sexually assaulted her, according to police.

Village residents, alerted by the commotion, apprehended and beat Dharmendra before surrendering him to law enforcement. He has been charged under Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). The girl is currently in a district hospital in serious condition.
