Tragic Drownings Claim Five Lives in Assam Districts
Five boys tragically drowned in two separate incidents in Assam's Lakhimpur and Jorhat districts. In Lakhimpur, three boys from Chanimari village drowned while bathing in a pond. In Jorhat, two teenagers drowned while grazing cattle. Villagers attempted rescues, but unfortunately, all boys were found dead.

In a tragic incident on Sunday, five boys lost their lives after drowning in separate ponds in Assam's Lakhimpur and Jorhat districts, police reported.
Three children from Chanimari village in Dhakuakhana, Lakhimpur, were bathing to escape the heat when they drowned attempting to swim to the middle of a deep pond. Despite villagers' attempts to save them, all efforts failed, according to a police officer.
In another occurrence in No-Pomuwa Baligaon village of Jorhat, two teenagers drowned while grazing cattle. Initially thought to be missing, their bodies were later discovered in a deep pond in the grazing field, as noted by another police official.
