Major Drug Bust in Bhiwandi: Woman Arrested with Charas Worth Rs 21 Lakh

A woman was arrested in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, with charas valued at Rs 21 lakh. Acting on a tip-off, Shanti Nagar police seized 2.2 kilograms of the drug. An FIR was registered under the NDPS Act, and the woman was remanded into police custody. The contraband originated from Uttar Pradesh.

A woman has been arrested in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, following the seizure of charas worth nearly Rs 21 lakh, according to local authorities.

A team from Shanti Nagar police station acted on a tip-off on Monday to apprehend the 39-year-old suspect at Kasaiwada in the Nizampura area, seizing 2.2 kilograms of the drug.

The woman has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and was remanded into police custody for four days. Preliminary investigations revealed she procured the contraband from Uttar Pradesh.
