Bihar Assembly Adjourns Amidst Reservation Law Row

Kumar informed the assembly about their Supreme Court appeal following the Patna High Court's quashing of the reservation laws.

The laws, which increased quotas for deprived castes to 65 percent, surpassing the Supreme Court's 50 percent cap, were passed last November but deemed unconstitutional last month. Placing these laws in the ninth schedule would protect them from judicial review. Despite the chief minister's efforts and his heated exchange with opposition members, the Speaker ultimately adjourned the session until 2 PM due to the ongoing disruption.
