The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a senior member of the banned CPI (Maoist), Uday ji alias Rajesh Kumar Sinha, in connection with a 2021 case that involved the seizure of arms, ammunition, and explosives in Bihar, as per an official statement released on Wednesday.
Uday ji, a special area committee member of CPI (Maoist), has been detained under various stringent laws including the Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act, Criminal Law Amendment Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in relation to the case registered in June 2021, the statement added.
The original case saw the confiscation of arms, ammunition, improvised hand grenades, and several other incriminating articles from Maoist operative Parshuram Singh, who had connections with other high-profile Maoist leaders, the NIA revealed.
