In an unexpected turn of events, Maharashtra’s Ghoti police in Nashik district registered a case against Shobha Magar, a deceased Shiv Sena leader, for her supposed participation in a protest two days ago. An official confirmed on Thursday that this incident was due to an oversight.

On Tuesday, Shiv Sena (UBT) workers agitated at the Ghoti toll plaza on the Mumbai-Agra road, blocking the highway temporarily. They demanded the cessation of toll collection until the road’s potholes were mended. Consequently, the Ghoti police booked 24 leaders, including former MLAs from the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), for violating public assembly regulations.

Nonetheless, Shobha Magar was also mistakenly named in the FIR. After the blunder went viral on social media, a Ghoti police official explained that they incorrectly assumed Magar to be among the protesting women. The police have now submitted a letter to the court to remove her name from the case.
