KZN Premier Praised for Commitment to Youth Development Programs

Premier Ntuli, who recently led a two-day Youth in Business Summit in Durban, has pledged to prioritize youth-focused programs throughout his administration.

The eThekwini Municipality has expressed strong support for KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thami Ntuli's commitment to youth-oriented initiatives and developmental programs. The summit, held under the theme "Young People Taking Charge in Leading Economic Development," served as a significant platform for fostering dialogue between the government and the youth. It aimed to boost youth development, entrepreneurship, and engagement in the province's mainstream economy.

Premier Ntuli emphasized that the summit is a catalyst for change and a crucial dialogue forum. He highlighted that the Executive Council and provincial government have pinpointed youth unemployment, youth development, and financial support for youth-owned businesses as key priorities for the current administration.

In an effort to combat youth unemployment, the provincial government has introduced several funding schemes, including an expansion of the Premier's Youth Empowerment Fund. The fund has been increased from R60 million to R100 million, aimed at providing the youth with opportunities to connect with strategic business leaders and contribute their ideas on how KwaZulu-Natal can support their initiatives.

Ntuli remarked, "This programme seeks to afford the youth of this province with an opportunity to interact with strategic business leaders and to share their views on how the province can support their initiatives and programs."

Deputy Mayor Zandile Myeni of the eThekwini Municipality lauded the Premier's initiative, stating, "When we give business access to young entrepreneurs, we will be ensuring that we transform the economy."

The Premier's commitment to integrating youth into economic development efforts aligns with broader goals to enhance economic opportunities and address unemployment in the province, showcasing a proactive approach to empowering the next generation.
