Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday paid tribute to the extraordinary bravery of Indian soldiers during the Kargil War. Speaking at the observance of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Shah highlighted the courage displayed by the soldiers who fought in the challenging terrain of the Himalayas and forced the enemy army to its knees.

He emphasized that Kargil Vijay Diwas stands as an emblem of the resolute bravery of the Indian Army. Shah shared his sentiments on social media, stating that the nation remains eternally grateful for the soldiers' sacrifices and unwavering dedication.

On July 26, 1999, the Indian Army declared victory in 'Operation Vijay,' marking the end of a nearly three-month-long conflict in the icy heights of Kargil, Ladakh. This day is now commemorated annually to honor India's triumph over Pakistan in the Kargil War.
