Jaishankar Forges Stronger Ties with New Zealand and Brunei at ASEAN Summit
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar recently held bilateral meetings with counterparts from Brunei and New Zealand. He discussed education, agriculture technology, and bilateral cooperation. Jaishankar also participated in ASEAN meetings in Laos, emphasizing that ASEAN is central to India's Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific vision.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar engaged in a series of bilateral meetings on Friday with officials from Brunei and New Zealand, aiming to enhance collaboration in areas like education and agricultural technology.
Jaishankar visited Laos for the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meetings, discussing India's Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific vision with various leaders from the region.
During his bilateral meeting with New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters, topics such as Pacific Islands relations and cricket were also addressed. Additionally, Jaishankar celebrated 40 years of diplomatic relations with Brunei and met multiple Laotian officials to deepen ties within the ASEAN framework.
