VP Dhankhar Urges Youth to Embrace Broad Opportunities and Explore New Avenues

Today, Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar addressed the 77th Foundation Day celebrations of Hansraj College, University of Delhi, urging youth to break free from conventional opportunities and explore new avenues. During his speech, he criticized the commercialisation of coaching and education, describing it as a hindrance to national growth.
Shri Dhankhar emphasized that education should integrate modern scientific knowledge with traditional Indian values. He highlighted education as a transformative tool essential for promoting equality and addressing inequities. He stressed that focusing on education is fundamental to human development.
Addressing the issue of disruptions in Parliament, Shri Dhankhar called on the youth to remain true to their conscience and uphold truth and nationalism. He advocated for Parliament as a forum for debate, deliberation, and discussion, urging the youth to reject indiscipline and slogan shouting.
Reflecting on India's economic progress, Shri Dhankhar encouraged the youth to look beyond traditional government jobs. He pointed out the enabling environment in the country that allows individuals to tap into their potential and pursue their aspirations.
He praised the emerging opportunities for self-employment and stressed the importance of awareness about government policies on employment options and skill enhancement. Shri Dhankhar also highlighted the potential of disruptive technologies such as green hydrogen, space science, and artificial intelligence, urging the youth to recognize and seize the employment opportunities these technologies offer.
The Vice-President underscored the need for quality education tailored to the demands of the 21st century, focusing on critical thinking, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial skills. He encouraged the youth to utilize digital platforms and social media to amplify their voices, raise awareness on key issues, and mobilize communities.
Before his address, Shri Dhankhar inaugurated a renovated administrative block and unveiled 'Smarika'. The event was attended by Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi, Prof. Rama, Principal of Hansraj College, Justice Pritam Pal Singh, Vice President of the DAV College Managing Committee, as well as students, faculty members, and other dignitaries.
