Russian Air Defence Intercepts 12 Ukrainian Drones in an Hour

In a swift and coordinated effort late on Friday, Russian air defence units intercepted 12 Ukrainian drones over the Bryansk region, according to regional governor Alexander Bogomaz. Bogomaz praised the defenders, stating all airborne targets were neutralized without casualties or severe damage.

Meanwhile, the Belgorod region experienced three drone attacks and multiple shelling incidents, as confirmed by governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. These attacks resulted in smashed windows and minor damage to buildings but no human casualties.

Ukrainian forces have frequently targeted Russian border areas, especially Belgorod, aiming to curtail Russian strikes inside Ukraine. This led to a Russian incursion into Ukraine's Kharkiv region in May, though Ukrainian officials now claim stability in the area. Gladkov and other officials have restricted access to parts of Belgorod to counter further Ukrainian attacks.
