A Pakistani court has extended the physical remand of Raoof Hasan, a senior member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, for two more days. Hasan, along with social media activist Syeda Arooba Kanwal, is addressing accusations related to inciting violence through social media campaigns.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) presented PTI's Central Information Secretary Raoof Hasan before District and Sessions Judge Murid Abbas after his initial three-day remand expired. The FIA has submitted case records, including video transcripts, and requested extended remand for forensic analysis.
During the last hearing, the FIA alleged that Hasan received and disseminated instructions to incite violence. Syeda Arooba Kanwal was also presented in court, accused of managing the PTI's social media account on X. Kanwal's judicial remand was confirmed, while Hasan's physical remand was extended.
