Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav has called on the government to award Rs 1 crore in compensation to the families of students who tragically died in a rain-flooded basement of a Delhi coaching centre.
In a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Yadav emphasized the deep impact the incident has had on students preparing for competitive exams and stressed the need for swift responsibility and action.
The incident, which occurred in Central Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar, resulted in the arrest of the coaching centre's owner and coordinator on charges including culpable homicide.
