NEW DELHI: A civil services aspirant, Avinash Dubey, has written to Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, seeking immediate and stringent action against officials he holds responsible for the tragic deaths of three students in a rain-flooded basement of a Delhi coaching centre.

In his plea, Dubey requests the Supreme Court to compel officials to find a permanent solution to the recurring problem of waterlogging in areas such as Rajinder Nagar and Mukherjee Nagar, prominent coaching hubs in the national capital.

Dubey described the living conditions of the students in these areas as 'hellish' due to annual flooding caused by the 'apathy' of the Delhi government and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). He accused local authorities of neglecting drainage issues, leading to frequent floods.
