Quad Calls for United Action Against UN-Listed Terrorist Groups

The Quad grouping, including India, the US, Japan, and Australia, called for concerted action against all UN-listed terrorist groups such as LeT and JeM. They urged all countries to take irreversible measures to prevent their territory from being used for terrorist purposes and condemned terrorism in all its forms.

The joint statement, released post the Quad foreign ministers' meet, unequivocally condemned all forms of terrorism and violent extremism, particularly cross-border terrorism. The statement specifically referenced attacks like the 26/11 Mumbai and Pathankot incidents, demanding that the perpetrators be swiftly brought to justice.

In their condemnation, the ministers also highlighted the menacing use of UAVs, drones, and emerging technologies by terrorist entities, urging global cooperation to counter these threats effectively. The Quad emphasized the need for international and regional collaboration to bolster the capacity of nations in preventing, detecting, and responding to terrorism.
