ED Raids Uncover Multi-Crore Ration Scam In West Bengal

The Enforcement Directorate is conducting simultaneous raids across 10 locations in North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal, as part of an ongoing probe into a multi-crore ration distribution scam. The raids target residences, mills, and offices of businessmen and TMC leaders, and have resulted in the arrest of state forest minister Jyotipriyo Mallick.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is actively conducting simultaneous raids in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal as part of an ongoing investigation into a multi-crore ration distribution scam. The raids are being carried out at various residences, mills, and offices of businessmen and two TMC leaders across 10 different locations, according to officials.

Sources stated that rice and flour mills, along with offices directly or indirectly involved in the scam, are being searched. Two TMC leaders in Deganga have come under scrutiny, with their mills currently under investigation.

In a significant development, the ED has already arrested state forest minister Jyotipriyo Mallick, who held the position of food minister earlier, due to his alleged involvement in the scam.
