Tragic Betrayal: Software Engineer's Night Out Turns into Nightmare

A 24-year-old software engineer was allegedly raped by two men, including her childhood friend, police here said on Tuesday.

The incident took place at a restaurant-cum-bar in Vanasthalipuram, where the woman and her friend were celebrating her new job. Both consumed liquor, after which her friend took her to a room and, in an inebriated state, raped her. Subsequently, a cousin of his also entered the room and assaulted her, she reported.

The woman alerted her brother, who contacted the police. Authorities have registered a case and took the victim to a hospital for a medical examination. Investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to apprehend the suspects.
