A local court on Tuesday sentenced four individuals to 25 years in prison for the gangrape of a Dalit teenager that occurred about two-and-a-half years ago.

Special Public Prosecutors Ashok Kumar Singh and Sunil Kumar Mishra revealed that the crime took place when the girl, accosted by accused Raja, was taken to a deserted location and raped by him and his three companions—Rizwan, Ijrael, and Mahfooz.

Additional District Judge (POCSO) Rajesh Narayan Mani Tripathi found all the accused guilty after examining the evidence, and sentenced each to 25 years of imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on each convict, with an additional sentence of two years for non-payment.
