Two sisters, aged six and 11, died here on Wednesday after family members found them at their home with injury marks on their necks, police said.
The incident occurred shortly after their father had an argument with another man in his house located in Balmiki Basti, authorities reported.
Yogita (11) and Anamika (6) were discovered with neck injuries and bleeding from the mouth, as relayed by family members to the police.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Srishti Gupta stated that the cause of death would be determined through post-mortem examinations.
Sonu, the father of the girls, mentioned that he had a dispute with a known individual at his residence on Wednesday morning. Following the argument, Sonu, a factory laborer, left for work with his son, Saurabh.
Saurabh returned home shortly after because he had forgotten his phone and found his sisters in severe pain and struggling to breathe, the family shared with the police.
They were rushed to a hospital where they were declared brought dead, police confirmed.
An investigation into the matter is currently underway, according to police officials.
